‘Bartra isn’t for sale’

Ariedo Braida insists Barcelona have no intention of selling Marc Bartra, but admits the situation is different with Martin Montoya.

Bartra has been linked with a move to Inter but Braida reportedly told an Inter website that there is no desire at Camp Nou to let the centre-back move on.

“We have no intention of selling him. Therefore, I consider him a player who isn’t available,” AS quotes Braida as saying.

“Montoya? In the next few days we’ll talk to his agent and make a decision. There is a concrete chance he’ll go.”

A further report from Mundo Deportivo insists that Bartra’s comments about being available for €12m, made when on international duty with Spain, are contrary to Barca’s take on the matter.

It’s confirmed Barta signed a new Barca contract in January and the terms of the deal say that his release clause falls from €25m to €12m if he fails to play a set amount of minutes.

Thiago Alcantara was able to leave Barca for Bayern Munich under the same arrangement when his clause went from €90m to €25m but Barca dispute Bartra’s claim.
