Morata: Thanks Juve!

Alvaro Morata has thanked Juventus for giving him the opportunity to represent Spain ahead of Sunday’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Belarus.

The young striker left Real Madrid for Juventus last summer in order to secure regular first-team football and was ultimately vindicated as he played a key role in helping the Old Lady lift a domestic double and reach the Champions League final.

“I owe a lot to Juventus because it’s thanks to what I did there and the help of my teammates that I’m here today with the national team,” he said at a Press conference.

“It wasn’t easy for me [at first] because I had to adapt to my new team, but I couldn’t be happier because we won the Scudetto and reached the Champions League final.

“For me, the greatest pride is to play for the national team and defend my country. I want to give everything to Spain.

“I’ll work hard to continue maintaining Del Bosque’s confidence in me. I’ll give my best every time the coach gives me the honour of wearing this jersey.

“My only objective and what excites me most is to play with Juventus at a high level in order to keep my place in the national team.”
