Madrid asked Chelsea about Courtois

The Daily Telegraph has reported Real Madrid enquired at Chelsea about the availability of Thibaut Courtois before moving for David De Gea.

It’s said that Madrid were willing to pay some £37m for the Atletico Madrid title winner but were told they would have to increase their bid to £73m to have it accepted.

Madrid backed away upon receiving the information and focused on De Gea, but have been told by the player that he will not upset his current club as he looks to return to Spain.

Instead, the Telegraph claims, Madrid have to find a deal with Manchester United and could include Karim Benzema in the offer.
