LFP President Javier Tebas has confirmed Getafe are in danger of following Elche in being relegated for non-payment of tax.
Elche were sent down by a judge despite finishing the League season in 12th place as a consequence of not meeting their financial obligations and Tebas, AS reports, has confirmed Getafe are in a similar situation.
“The decision [regarding Elche] was that of a judge and the resolution of the case. Elche are a repeat offender,” he said.
“Getafe have a record of defaults with the Treasury but I don’t know the details. In two or three weeks we’ll see what’s there.
“I won’t talk about assumptions and go into a situation that hasn’t occurred. In areas of law one can’t speak hypothetically.
“There’ve been no complaints [from players regarding non-payment of wages]. We’ll see if any arrive from July 15.
“Getafe are repeat offenders so therefore, they’re at a greater risk [than other clubs].”
