Man Utd reject Valencia bid for Valdes

Manchester United have turned down an approach from Valencia for Victor Valdes, the latest goalkeeper linked to Los Che.

Valencia are in the market for a ‘keeper after Diego Alves suffered a serious knee injury and is likely to miss a large portion of the season.

Super Deporte report that Valdes fits the profile of player Valencia are looking for but his current club insist they don’t want to let him go.

United face losing David De Gea to Real Madrid and are intent of keeping hold of Valdes, who signed on a free transfer in January and made his debut in May.

There was a doubt over Valdes’ fitness after he suffered a similar injury to Alves in 2014, ruling him out of the World Cup and ending his Barcelona career with a whimper.

Valdes left Barca on a free transfer and began training with United in October, eventually signing an 18-month contract at Old Trafford early in 2015.

Having been denied in their pursuit of Valdes, Valencia are looking at Kiko Casilla, Geronimo Rulli and Roberto, the report claims.
