Neymar: I’ve silenced my critics

Neymar believes his critics have been silenced following Barcelona’s 3-1 victory over Juventus in the Champions League final on Saturday.

The Brazilian scored La Blaugrana’s third and final goal in Berlin to finish the season as the Champions League’s joint-top scorer alongside teammate Lionel Messi and Real Madrid nemesis Cristiano Ronaldo.

“This victory is the pinnacle of my career,” he told ESPN Brasil.

“I’m very happy to be part of this story. I don’t think there’s anything left to pin on me. There’s nothing else you can say about me and I won’t stop here.

“I don’t know what to say [about the triumph]. It’s a unique emotion and a unique experience that I could live with my team.

“I saw my friends in the crowd. The crying [after the final whistle] was because I considered everything I went through, everything I ever dreamed about with my son, the effort, the effort of my family.

“I’ve had many wonderful moments in my life, but this is surely the best one of my career.

“This was the biggest match of my career. Surely, this day will live on in history.”
