Josep Maria Bartomeu has claimed that he “imagined” Barcelona winning the treble last summer.
The Catalans lifted La Liga, the Copa del Rey and Champions League in a single campaign for only the second time in their history, and the President believes their feat is testament to the hard work of everyone at the club.
“We’re happy with the second treble in our history,” he told TV3.
“I knew it’d be difficult to win [the Champions League final] as Juventus created many chances, but we’ve had a great season, which has been very difficult. We’ve all worked hard.
“Now we must celebrate this unique event, even more so in light of the difficulties we’ve faced this season.
“I imagined [we’d do it] last summer. I knew we had a good squad and made good decisions. Everyone at the club has done a good job.”
