Suarez: Juve made us suffer

Luis Suarez has paid tribute to Juventus for making Barcelona “suffer” en route to Saturday’s 3-1 victory in the Champions League final.

The former Liverpool star scored the all-important goal that put La Blaugrana back ahead after Alvaro Morata’s equaliser, and he admitted the feeling of being crowned European champion was “something I’ve only ever dreamed of”.

“[Winning the Champions League] is incredible, something I’ve only ever dreamed of,” he said after the game.

“To win these tournaments you have to suffer, otherwise you won’t succeed, and [on Saturday] we did that.

“[Juve] equalises after pressing a little more and had chances [to score], but we have players who make the difference, and they put us back ahead.

“We always wanted to better our objectives. La Liga became the Copa del Rey final and now we have the treble.

“Humility and our togetherness throughout the season [is the key to our success].

“[On next season], there’s always demand [to win trophies].”
