Zidane hopes for Morata impact

Zinedine Zidane has backed Juventus striker Alvaro Morata to do the business against Barcelona in the Champions League final tonight.

The Frenchman, now in charge of Real Madrid Castilla, plyed his trade for the Old Lady between 1996 and 2001, losing two Champions League finals in his first two seasons at the club, before sealing a then-world-record transfer to Los Blancos.

“Morata has had a fantastic season and I hope he has a great final,” he told Marca.

“He knocked us out, now we hope he can win a Champions League final with Juventus.

“I’m happy to see Juventus in a [European] final for all the time they’ve gone without one.

“I played there for five years and most importantly became the player I was [at Juve].

“I love players like [Andrea] Pirlo, [Paul] Pogba, [Carlos] Tevez. A final is where all the big players come to life.”
