‘Rafa breathes Real Madrid’

Florentino Perez has welcomed Rafa Benitez to Real Madrid, citing the new Coach’s passion for football and for Los Blancos.

Perez introduced Benitez at a short ceremony at Santiago Bernabeu before handing over to an emotional Benitez.

“The requirement at Real Madrid is always high and our new Coach makes us stronger in our objectives, which are the dreams of the Madrid fans,” Perez said.

“Rafa breathes football and Real Madrid. He offers hard work and passion for this sport.

“He is a Coach for whom the method makes the basis of his work. He is known for his brilliant preparation for matches and his great track record.”

Perez listed the various trophies claimed by Benitez in his time at Valencia, Liverpool, Inter, Chelsea and Napoli, before citing his credentials as a Madrid man.
