Real Madrid are looking to keep Casemiro despite Porto informing the club they intended to take up the option of a permanent signing.
Casemiro spent the season just finished on loan in Portugal and, after it was deemed a successful move, confirmed to Los Blancos they wanted the player on a full-time basis.
Porto were to pay €7.5m for Casemiro and as per the terms of the loan deal, if Madrid wanted to re-sign him, they would face a charge of €15m.
But now Madrid have informed Porto they want Casemiro themselves, Marca reports, and will pay €7.5m to keep him.
Should Madrid change their minds and let Casemiro leave, or include him as a makeweight in a transfer for another player, Porto will receive compensation of €15m.
