Tore or Nolito for Atleti?

Atletico Madrid have reportedly targeted Gokhan Tore and Nolito to bolster their attack next season.

Neither Alessio Cerci nor Raul Jimenez have lived up to expectations this season, with the former joining Milan in January, while the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Mario Mandzukic continue to be linked with moves away from the Vicente Calderon.

Consequently, AS reports that Atleti are likely to make at least one forward signing in the coming months, regardless of whether they lose anyone, beginning with Celta Vigo star Nolito, who could be snapped up for around €14m.

The former champions, however, are keen to drive the price down and reportedly offered an initial €10m for the Barcelona youth product, with a number of performance-related addons included.

Nolito scored 13 goals and laid off as many assists in a campaign that also saw him debut for Spain, and the 28-year-old recently told the newspaper: “Who wouldn’t like to play for Atletico Madrid?”

Another player who Atleti have set their sights on is Besiktas attacker Gokhan Tore, who was linked with the club earlier in the season.

The 23-year-old appears set to leave the Turkish side this summer, and AS claims Diego Simeone’s side have the upper hand in any negotiations thanks to the presence of the player’s Turkish compatriot Arda Turan.

However, they are believed to face stiff competition from the likes of Europa League winners Sevilla, Inter, Wolfsburg and Premier League teams Tottenham and Southampton.

Turkish news channel Haberturk previously reported that the Saints were readying a €6m bid for the ex-Chelsea and Hamburg starlet.
