Madrid make offer to Pogba?

Reports from Italy claim Real Madrid have already made an offer to Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, but it might not be big enough.

AS cites a story from La Stampa that says Los Blancos are willing to pay the France international €10m a year over five years, making him one of the highest-paid players at Santiago Bernabeu.

But it is acknowledged that Barcelona international sporting director Ariedo Braida has been in Turin to speak with Juventus, and Pogba is believed to be the topic of conversation as the Catalans look to replace Xavi Hernandez.

Mundo Deportivo claim, however, that Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, wants his client to receive triple what he currently does, and at just over €4m a year, that means a pay packet of more than €12m.

Raiola wants Barca to make Pogba the second-highest paid player at Camp Nou, behind Lionel Messi, if he is going to accept their approach.

It’s suggested Barca would baulk at that sum for fear of upsetting the balance of the locker room.

Madrid on Thursday morning moved to deny claims of an approach to Pogba, issuing a public statement to that affect
