‘Ancelotti exit would be hard to take’

James Rodriguez has admitted that Carlo Ancelotti leaving would be a “difficult” pill to swallow following Real Madrid’s 7-3 victory over Getafe.

The Coach’s position in charge of Los Blancos remains up in the air, despite the side ending the season with a flourish, and the midfielder refused to conceal his disappointment if the 54-year-old was instructed to move on.

“[The fans] have to treat [Iker Casillas] with great respect,” he said after the game.

“He’s a symbol of the club and has helped win us many titles. We still need him.

“We were close on all fronts but weren’t accompanied by much luck. We must learn from our experiences.

“[Carlo Ancelotti leaving] would be difficult and somewhat significant. The Coach has been here for two years and knows what we’re like and how we play.”
