Bale’s agent wants Madrid answers

Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, met Real Madrid President Florentino Perez on Wednesday to ascertain whether his client still has a future at the club.

Barnett, accompanied by his son and David Mannesah, a representative of the Stellar Group, were in the Spanish capital to find out what Los Blancos’ intentions are regards next season after the player was criticised by fans during the 2014-15 campaign.

AS reports that Barnett asked Perez to inform him as soon as possible if, as he has allegedly heard, Bale is available for transfer this summer.

If true, he plans to immediately put the wheels in motion on the Welshman’s exit from the Santiago Bernabeu, with Manchester United believed to be particularly interested in taking him to Old Trafford.

Bale himself would like to go on holiday with his future already determined and is understood to have instructed Barnett to obtain a clear message from Madrid at the meeting, which was confirmed to AS.

The 25-year-old has played in 48 matches for Carlo Ancelotti’s team this season, scoring 17 goals, while last term he managed to notch 22 goals in 44 games, the most important of them coming in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona and the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.
