Ancelotti in line for Milan return?

Carlo Ancelotti could be in line for a sensational return to Milan if Real Madrid dispense with his services at the end of the season.

Los Blancos will end the 2014-15 campaign trophyless after being knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Juventus last week, while reports in Spain have it that Ancelotti will pay the price despite still having a year remaining on his contract.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, he may return to his native country with the Rossoneri.

Ancelotti, a former Milan player, was in charge at the San Siro between 2001 and 2009, guiding the club to two Champions League successes, a Serie A title, two UEFA Super Cups, a FIFA Club World Cup, a Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa Italia, before subsequent roles with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

Milan have had a poor season under Filippo Inzaghi, finishing a disappointing 11th, and have been linked with moves for both Sevilla boss Unai Emery and Italy Coach Antonio Conte, although Ancelotti’s availability would be sure to arouse interest within the club’s hierarchy.
