Madrid to use Cheryshev as leverage?

Real Madrid reportedly plan to use Denis Cheryshev as leverage in their summer transfer activity, despite the winger’s successful loan spell at Villarreal.

The 24-year-old has scored seven goals and assisted a further 11 in 40 appearances for the Yellow Submarine this season, but AS claims his figures will not matter for much in the grand scheme of things.

However, Los Blancos will first try to include him in some of their bigger deals, with the intention of driving asking prices down, before shifting him outright.

Madrid are also believed to have already informed the Russian that he would only be considered as a fringe player if he were to stay put next term.

Even so, the side may change their mind if Jese, as reported by the newspaper, secures a move away first.
