Carvajal & Jese to leave Madrid?

Dani Carvajal and Jese Rodriguez could both leave Real Madrid this summer, according to AS.

Carvajal has been Madrid’s first-choice right-back since returning from Bayer Leverkusen in 2013, but the impending arrival of Porto star Danilo has cast the Spaniard’s squad status into doubt.

AS claims Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are all monitoring the 23-year-old’s situation closely ahead of potentially launching a summer scramble for his services.

Nonetheless, Carvajal, whose contract does not expire until 2019, has already made it clear that he plans to fight for his place alongside the Brazil international.

“I’ve seen him play a lot. At Madrid, you compete with the best and that motivates me,” he was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

However, the Spaniard’s recent performances – coincidentally since the Danilo announcement – have been mixed in the eyes of AS, who have singled out his struggles against Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

The situation with Jese, on the other hand, is different as Madrid are reportedly unhappy with his development this season.

The 22-year-old had been progressing well under Carlo Ancelotti’s watch, until knee ligament damage against Schalke last March left him sidelined for the next eight months.

Having played just 575 minutes this term, AS understands that Los Blancos will look to sell the attacker but retain a repurchase option, as seen in the cases of Carvajal and Alvaro Morata, in the event he impresses sufficiently.

Ancelotti claimed less than a month ago that Jese would stay at Madrid in the summer, attributing his poor form to fear out of suffering another serious injury.

But with the Coach’s position up in the air and the forward continuing to stagnate, significant changes could be afoot at the Santiago Bernabeu before the start of 2015-16.
