Chiellini: No grudges with Suarez

Giorgio Chiellini has insisted that he bears no grudges with former foe Luis Suarez ahead of the Champions League final next month.

The Barcelona forward received a four-month global ban for biting the Juventus centre-back during a World Cup group game between Uruguay and Italy last summer, but the stalwart says neither party will be out for revenge in Berlin.

“Facing Suarez again? Yes, but with lots of tranquillity [this time around],” he told Tuttosport.

“I’ll face him as a great striker, as I did with [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Gareth] Bale, [Karim] Benzema and Chicharito [Javier Hernandez]…

“Episodes like those last summer help both sides to mature. Even on his part, I think there’s nothing but the desire to win the Champions League.”

Suarez is also likely to face Patrice Evra, whom he was charged with racially abusing in a Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool in October 2011.
