Ramos to miss Madrid climax

Sergio Ramos will miss Real Madrid’s last two games of the season after picking up a calf injury against Juventus on Wednesday.

The defender played through the pain barrier during Los Blancos’ 1-1 draw with the Old Lady in the Champions League semi-finals at the Santiago Bernabeu, and he will now be unavailable for matches against Espanyol and Getafe.

“After undergoing tests at La Moraleja Santias hospital [on Friday], Sergio Ramos was diagnosed with a first-degree muscle injury in the soleus muscle of his left leg,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

Ramos joins Luka Modric as Madrid’s other major absence to round off a frustrating season on the treatment table for the recently-dethroned European champions.
