Dani Carvajal said he wanted to thank the fans following Real Madrid’s Champions League elimination at the hands of Juventus.
Los Blancos paid the price for losing the semi-final first leg 2-1 in Turin last week after only managing a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu, while the defender insisted Carlo Ancelotti’s men had given their all.
“I want to send a message to the fans that we tried all possible ways to reach the final and we’ll try even harder next year,” Carvajal told reporters.
“Now we have to try and win the two games that remain in La Liga and wait for next season to come around.
“I also want to thank the fans for the atmosphere they created on our arrival at the stadium.
“We gave everything for them on the pitch but sadly it wasn’t to be,” he lamented.
