Ancelotti unsure of Madrid future

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he does not know whether he will still be Real Madrid’s Coach next season after Wednesday’s Champions League exit.

Los Blancos’ hopes of becoming the first-ever club to retain the Champions League were dashed courtesy of an Alvaro Morata goal in the second half at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 3-2 aggregate defeat reportedly leaves Ancelotti’s job hanging by a thread, and he conceded after the 1-1 draw he was in the dark about his future.

“We lost [the tie] in the first game. We played at our best [on Wednesday], but we weren’t lucky,” he told Sky Sports.

“We had a lot of control and good opportunities [to score], but we weren’t lucky enough to score a late goal.

“Of course [I’m disappointed with the late goal], but I think we were a little bit unlucky in the game.

“We had a lot of opportunities to score a second goal, but we weren’t able to [do so].

“I think [Gareth] Bale had a better game [than the first leg], but the whole team worked hard. We did our best, but it wasn’t enough to reach the final.

“I don’t know [if I’ll be here next season]. We have 15 days to work, we have two games left and we have to close the season [well]. After that, I can speak with the club.”
