Malaga sign Portuguese midfielder

Malaga have made their first signing ahead of next season after snapping up Andre Andre from Vitoria Guimaraes.

A report in AS claims the operation was sealed several weeks ago and the Costa del Sol outfit will pay around €1.5m for the 25-year-old, who has netted 13 times in all competitions this season, although 10 of them have come from the penalty spot.

It is understood that Porto had also been tracking Andre, who has made one international appearance for Portugal after coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Cape Verde last March, but the player has opted to try his luck in Spanish football.

Malaga director of football Mario Husillos has scoured the Portuguese market for emerging talent over the past couple of seasons, and been successful in bringing Vitorino Antunes, Flavio Ferreira and Ricardo Horta to La Rosaleda.
