Messi ‘indescribable’ says Masche

Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano said Lionel Messi was “impossible to describe” following the 3-0 defeat of Bayern Munich.

Messi scored two breathtaking goals to break the German resistance in the Champions League semi-final first leg between the clubs at the Camp Nou, before Neymar raced through to put the seal on things late on.

It was a performance that had countryman Mascherano purring afterwards.

“We have Messi and that’s an advantage for us because he is a player who is impossible to describe. You just have to see him,” the Argentine told reporters.

“We knew that Pep would go for the win whatever stadium he is at and they came here to press further up the pitch.

“When you do that then sometimes you take risks, but we know that in attack we have players of great quality.

“It was a tight, tough game yet I felt we had the better opportunities to score and played how we wanted, so we are happy with that.

“We know how difficult it’s going to be in Germany so we’ll need to have the same mentality and play our own game,” assured Mascherano.
