Keane and Scholes slam Bale display

Roy Keane and Paul Scholes have slammed Gareth Bale’s performance in Real Madrid’s 2-1 Champions League defeat to Juventus.

The former Manchester United teammates appeared as pundits on ITV’s coverage of the semi-final first leg clash in Turin, with Keane leading the criticism of the Welshman’s display.

“Credit to both teams as they were both going for it, but it’s very difficult when you are playing with 10 men because Gareth Bale did not show up tonight,” he claimed.

Keane’s thoughts were echoed by Paul Scholes, who also felt Bale had let his Madrid teammates down.

“[Luka] Modric was a big miss for Real Madrid. Bale never once tried to take his man on. He just whipped the ball in and it was food and drink for the Juventus defence,” declared Scholes.
