Messi: ‘Relationship with Luis good’

Lionel Messi insists his relationship with Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is still good and that their reported January fallout is a thing of the past.

The Argentine was left on the bench against Real Sociedad at the turn of the year, after which stories of an argument between the pair at the training ground surfaced and Messi missed the next session after the Catalans were defeated at Anoeta.

Barca defender Jeremy Mathieu later confirmed there was some disruption within the club at the time, but Messi says there is no ongoing tension with Enrique.

“There’s no problem. That’s all been cleared up and my relationship with him is as good as it is with the rest of my teammates,” he told a Press conference.

However, Messi was reluctant to compare former boss Pep Guardiola with his current Coach ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg clash with Bayern Munich at the Camp Nou.

“I’m not one for comparisons. Each has his own ideas, his own ways. One might do one thing, the other another, and that’s normal.

“They have a lot of similar qualities but there are things which are not so similar,” he maintained.
