Tevez: ‘A great night for Juve’

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez felt the 2-1 Champions League semi-final first leg win over Real Madrid

The Argentine gave Juve the advantage from the penalty spot after Cristiano Ronaldo had equalised Alvaro Morata’s early opener for the Bianconeri, and believes the Serie A giants deserved their victory.

“We played a great game and deserved to win. It’s a really important result for us,” Tevez was quoted as saying by UEFA.com.

“We now have to play in Madrid with the same determination, the same focus and the same will to win, while we must try to impose ourselves.

“Nothing has changed in terms of our chances of getting through.”

The 31-year-old maintained that Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri had done a good job in getting his tactics for the game spot on.

“Our Coach prepared for the game plan really well – he wanted us to keep the Madrid defenders guessing and it worked okay.

“In the first half I was retreating quite deep, but in the second I played further forward,” he explained.
