‘Ancelotti brought Madrid’s smile back’

Iker Casillas has paid tribute to Carlo Ancelotti for making Real Madrid a happy place again and discussed Juventus in the Champions League.

Madrid travel to Turin for Tuesday’s first leg and Casillas and co will see an old face, Madrid youth striker Alvaro Morata, as well as Fernando Llorente.

“Morata is the future. But he has so much for the present,” Casillas said of his old colleague in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport and picked up by AS.

“Right foot, left foot, speed, he can dribble, he’s good with his head. He’ll be the national team’s No. 9.

“Llorente can change the dynamic of a close game. He’s very strong in the air and he’s a man for the penalty area.

“It’s a Clasico. A fascinating, attractive game. Two teams with many great players, each playing a different way. It will be hard but we’ll try to leave with an excellent result.

“They’re without Paul Pogba, and us Luka Modric [and Karim Benzema]. In any case we have done well despite the casualties.

“Sergio Ramos’ position isn’t midfield but he’s adapted well, with determination. It works for me.

“Ancelotti is the Coach who returned the smile to Madrid, who brought the much-desired Decima that we looked 12 years for, and made for a magical 2014 with four trophies.”
