Villarreal Coach Marcelino suggested Deportivo La Coruna were the better side in the 1-1 draw between the teams.
Jaume Moreno put the Yellow Submarine in front at Riazor but Celso Borges equalised a minute later, the scores remaining level until the close of play.
“We’re happy because Deportivo have caused us many, many problems,” Marcelino said, according to Marca.
“We suffered a lot. Deportivo were extremely intense and strong in defence.
“The fact they equalised after a minute shows the maximum motivation and enthusiasm they have and, for us, a different impact.”
