Gracia: Malaga need patience

Javi Gracia has suggested that ‘patience and maturity’ will be key to Malaga ending their slump against Elche on Sunday.

The Andalucians look set to miss out on seventh place in La Liga and Europa League qualification following a run of just four wins since mid-January, but the Coach is remaining positive ahead of his side’s remaining four fixtures.

“It’s a match which requires maturity on our part, so we must be ready to be patient,” he said at a Press conference.

“Elche are in good form and have picked up a number of points recently. They’re nearing safety and reinforced psychologically.

“Our season’s not getting any easier. It’s important to be patient. We must work hard and be organised.

“I hope we play to our best [in the last four matches of the season]. The team, with different line-ups, transfers and injuries haven’t made for an enjoyable few months.

“It’s true that our form isn’t good right now, but the results haven’t accompanied our performances. We need the fans more than ever [to get out of this rut].

“I’m happy [to have Ignacio Camacho] back. He’s ready to compete and I’ve told him about the importance of his presence.”
