Nuno laments missed chances

Nuno Santo believes Valencia created enough chances against Rayo Vallecano to win what he describes as ‘a crazy game.’

Los Che were held to a 1-1 draw in Vallecas, Rayo taking the lead through Adrian Embarba before Dani Parejo equalised.

Jorge Morcillo, Rodrigo Moreno and Nuno’s opposing Coach, Paco Jemez, were dismissed and Nuno gave his take on the encounter after the final whistle.

“We clearly played a game to win. We created many chances and were very good in the first 20 minutes,” he said, AS reports.

“Their goal cost us but overall we created many chances. The result isn’t what we wanted but we would win this game many times.

“What I see is a team that produces and creates many chances. Effectiveness will come.

“After Rayo had a player sent off the game became a little crazy. But then we adjusted. Our sending off changed everything again. But with the chances we had the result could have been different.

“We don’t say goodbye to anyone, and not Atletico Madrid. The fight will go until the last day. We depend on ourselves.

“The next game is at home and we have to comply. We have four games left and we have to face them with the conviction we can win them all.

“It was a tough game for the referee [Vicandi Garrido]. It was very aggressive and he’s a young official. I’m not sure about Rayo’s sending off.

“I didn’t see what happened with Rodrigo. He played well and shouldn’t get into this situation. It's a group error. There’s a lot of tension and we should avoid that happening.”
