Former Real Madrid midfielder Freddy Rincon is wanted by Interpol for questioning into drug-related crimes in Panama.
According to a report in The Guardian, the 48-year-old [pictured left during a testimonial game in 2010] has allegedly been involved in money laundering and criminal conspiracy related to drugs, while stories in the Colombian media insist Rincon has business and property interests in Panama bought in partnership with drug baron Pablo Rayo Montano.
Colombia international Rincon first shot to prominence with America de Cali and Palmeiras before a move to Real Madrid in 1995, where he spent one season and made 14 appearances before returning to South America with Corinthians, Santos and Cruzeiro.
He also represented Colombia at the 1994 World Cup in the United States and is best remembered for his devastating combination with Faustino Asprilla in the 5-0 demolition of Argentina in the qualifying campaign.
