Madrid & Atleti cases unlike Barca’s

The President of the Madrid Football Association (RFFM) has played down FIFA’s investigation into Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

It was understood the two clubs would be subjected to a transfer embargo for contravening the rules governing the incorporation of young players, as reported by Spanish radio.

However, the RFFM’s Vicente Temprado attempted to clear up the matter, insisting the alleged offences are nothing like the ones that saw Barcelona banned from signing players for the next two transfer windows.

“The Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid cases are nothing like the Barca one. They’re different,” Marca quotes him as saying.

“FIFA has been investigating 34 Atletico players and around 30 from Real Madrid, but there is nothing sanctionable. Everything is justified.

“The RFFM is responsible for issuing players’ registrations to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), who in turn do the same to FIFA.

“For the past three or four years the RFFM has been tremendously scrupulous when processing registrations so as to ensure all the requirements laid down by the RFEF and FIFA are met,” he explained.
