Enrique ‘bored’ of Xavi talk

Luis Enrique wants an end to speculation over Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona future. ‘I say this so often I get bored myself.’

Xavi was one of many to catch the eye as La Blaugrana routed Getafe and the veteran’s sterling performance has already led to questions over how long he has left at Camp Nou, particularly after the rousing send-off he received after being substituted.

“I say this so often I get bored myself,” Enrique replied when asked about Xavi post-match, according to AS.

“It’s deserved that Camp Nou praises him so much but it is Xavi’s decision and it must be respected.

“He knows it is necessary and the decision he takes will be best for everyone. I met him when I was a player, when he was a youngster and he hardly seemed like a footballer.

“Now he is the player with the most matches in the history of Barca. He’s a player from another galaxy. It has to be understood that he is getting older and he can play as long as he wants. He’s gifted.”
