Marcelo: ‘We must pressure Barca’

Real Madrid left-back Marcelo says his team must win all their remaining La Liga games this season to put pressure on leaders Barcelona.

The Catalans have a two-point lead at the top with just five games left and the Brazilian acknowledged there is now no room for error.

“We have a very clear objective in our minds and that is to play every game as if it was a final,” Marcelo told reporters.

“We have enough gas in the tank, while the team is doing well and everyone is in excellent physical condition.

“We trust the Coach and he trusts us so we’ll keep on fighting right until the end, although we don’t know if Barcelona are going to slip up, but we are going try and win all our matches.”

Boss Carlo Ancelotti said this week that it is easier to win the Champions League than La Liga and Marcelo agreed with his assessment.

“The boss is the boss and if he said that then I agree with him. There are no favourites in the Champions League. If we’d been playing Barcelona or Bayern Munich it would have been equally as difficult as facing Juventus.

“First of all we are going to play a semi-final and these are games that everyone in the world would like to be involved in,” he asserted.
