Thomas Vermaelen has finally been given the go-ahead from doctors to return to action and will available to Barcelona for the rest of the season.
The Belgian, who is yet to make his debut for the Blaugrana since his move from Arsenal last summer, was operated on in December to solve a hamstring problem and has suffered a series of setbacks since.
However, Vermaelen trained with his teammates on Sunday following Barca’s 2-0 win in the Catalan derby at Espanyol, and could be included in Luis Enrique’s squad for Tuesday’s game against Getafe.
Barca paid Arsenal €10m for the centre-back, with a further €5m possibly due in variables, and will now be looking for a return on their investment.
