Lionel Messi has taken advantage of time off for Barcelona’s Fiesta de Sant Jordi to fly to Italy and visit his nutritionist.
According to reports, the Barca star travelled to Sacile in the north-east of the country to see sports physician Giuliano Poser, the man who changed the Argentine’s diet and has been a key factor in his return to form since the start of this year.
Messi’s presence in Italy emerged after Italian politician Isidoro Gottardo uploaded a selfie with him and Il Friuli subsequently published images of the player in Sacile.
According to Il Friuli, Messi is not the only one to have taken advantage of Poser’s services as other Barcelona footballers, who preferred to remain anonymous, have also worked with him.
Reports in Spain suggest that since Messi started consulting Poser he has shed around three-and-a-half kilos in weight.
