Unai Emery believes Sevilla edged the 1-1 draw with Granada and if either side deserved three points, it was his.
Diego Mainz was on the score sheet for both sides, netting for Granada after 16 minutes and then putting through his own net after 69 minutes.
“Sevilla controlled many phases of the game and I think if anyone deserved three points, it was us,” Emery said, AS reports.
“The physical level was great and while we suffer by not getting three points, to have 63 points at this stage means we’re optimistic.
“Every game is different but it was clear from the first to the last we had a competitive mentality and wanted to win. The attitude was very good and we must be optimistic.
“Logically we’re still ambitious and our options [to qualify for the Champions League] remain intact. Victory would have brought us closer but we have a way forward and the fans are win the team.
“We’ll try to keep our options open until the last day when we visit La Rosaleda.”
