Bartomeu praises Bravo impact

Josep Maria Bartomeu paid tribute to Claudio Bravo following his goalkeeping exploits in Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Valencia in La Liga on Saturday.

The Chilean made a number of important saves against Los Che, including an early stop to keep out Dani Parejo’s penalty, leaving the President to single out the summer arrival from Real Sociedad for praise after the game.

“It was a great performance and we must congratulate the players,” he noted.

“We press ahead after a difficult game, in which our opponents were very good, especially in the first half. This team want to win the League and showed it.

“[Claudio Bravo] has conceded the least number of goals in the Primera this season and proved his quality [on Saturday].

“Everyone [in the division] remains under pressure and there are still many games left.

“We have a big away fixture [at Espanyol] next week, but I’m very satisfied with the team and our fans who filled the stadium.

“[The treble] is still very far away. We’re dreaming of beating PSG and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.”
