‘CL draw a dangerous result’

Toni Kroos believes Real Madrid’s goalless Champions League quarter-final with Atletico Madrid has left his team vulnerable.

The first leg at Vicente Calderon ended 0-0 despite Los Blancos dominating the first half, Los Rojioblancos relying on a number of saves from Jan Oblak to remain level.

“We should have won at Atletico. It wouldn’t have been undeserved, but we have to accept [the result] for what it is,” Kroos said, AS reports.

“0-0 is a dangerous result because of the away goal.”

Kroos then turned to other topics, including his future at Santiago Bernabeu and what it takes to play at a high level.

“My plan is to stay at Madrid for a long time. I’ve signed for five years. I’m very comfortable in Madrid,” he explained.

“My happiness with Madrid is enormous. I enjoy not having to give three interviews a day. I being able to relax with my family.

“Here, everything with the club and the fans is most enthusiastic. If you’re in town and you’re recognised you can return home. The distance in Germany doesn’t exist here.

“There are no big headlines about me. I don’t often go partying. I’d rather be at home with my family. What other people think doesn’t matter to me.

“It’s important you take care of the important things, but I wouldn’t say I’m the professional who is the healthiest. It would be a lie.

“I enjoy life. I admit it. But when you’re preparing for a match it’s important to live responsibly.”

Kroos went on to give an insight into Cristiano Ronaldo’s training regimen and discussed the forward’s infamous party.
