Atletico meeting about Dybala

Atletico Madrid are said to be meeting with representatives of Palermo over the signing of forward Paulo Dybala.

AS claims a middleman from the Serie A club, Gustavo Mascardi, spent the night in Madrid and is due to meet with the Atleti hierarchy.

Dybala has attracted attention from Juventus, Inter, Roma, Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, the report claims, with Juve making a €32m offer but Palermo insisting on no less than €40m.

Mascardi is meeting with all the interested parties, AS say, and will report back to Palermo President Mauricio Zamparini, and to Dybala.

Dybala is said to want to play in the Champions League but only at a team where he is guaranteed regular playing time.

The promise of minutes is as important as the financial offer, AS add, as Dybala is still a young player whose game is developing.

It’s suggested that the presence of his compatriot, Diego Simeone, at Vicente Calderon, could be a factor, as could Cholo’s long-term contract extension, which signifies he will be at the club for the foreseeable future.
