Sergio Ramos declared himself happy with Real Madrid’s 0-0 draw at Atletico Madrid in their Champions League quarter-final tie.

The Spain international believes it was a good result for Los Blancos and that he would have settled for the result beforehand.

“We were up against a tough opponent and it was physically exhausting, so we must draw positive conclusions from it,” he told reporters.

“They are a team that always makes it difficult and we haven’t beaten them for seven games, but we played really well in the first half.

“We had chances to have won it and now we’ve got the return at the Bernabeu with our own fans behind us.

“However, I’d have settled for this before the game, although their goalkeeper denied us at times.

“To get to the semi-finals you have to beat the best and Atletico Madrid deserve to be where they are,” he maintained.
