Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has spoken of what life is like at the club following his move from Borussia Monchengladbach last year.
The 22-year-old joined the Catalans for a reported €12m and told the Hamburger Morgen Post how he has been received in Spain.
“I feel very comfortable at this club and hope to have a good time here, although I’m not No 1 at the moment and it’s not an easy situation,” he explained.
“I was welcomed when I arrived yet nobody puts out the red carpet for you. It would be naive to believe it is easy to be the undisputed No 1 here but that’s my aim.
“It’s hard to accept I’ve spent all season on the bench so obviously I want to play more in the future.”
The German was asked if considered himself a superstar after signing for one of the world’s biggest clubs.
“I’m not a superstar. I’m a normal person. I’m not Justin Timberlake or Kanye West. To me they are superstars,” he replied.
