Luis Enrique: ‘I decide at Barca’

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has responded to striker Neymar’s angry reaction at being substituted in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Sevilla.

The Brazilian was brought off on 74 minutes to be replaced by Xavi Hernandez and appeared to show his displeasure at the decision.

However, speaking at a Press conference ahead of the Champions League quarter-final game against Paris Saint-Germain, Enrique made it clear who was in charge.

“I didn’t actually see anything but as a Coach I can understand that everyone wants to be on the pitch, yet they must also understand it’s me that makes the decisions,” he explained.

“I’ve brought nearly all the players [to Paris] and we’ll see who plays. Nothing surprises me anymore.

“I think our attacking trio look great. They give us so much and also from a defensive point of view. They are in good form.”

Enrique confessed he is wary of the threat posed by PSG but is happy with his own side.

“In the group stages they showed they’ve got a really good side. I said back then they were favourites for the title and they showed it by knocking Chelsea out.

“But I like everything about my team and that’s why we are where we are. That we need to improve is obvious and that’s our aim, although I’m not going to speculate on it,” he concluded.
