Andoni Iraola is to leave Athletic Bilbao at the end of the season and he is set to move to the United States and MLS.
AS reports Athletic made the right-back the offer of a one-year contract extension and his teammates also asked him to stay, but the 32-year-old wants to experience somewhere new.
Iraola has played more than 500 games for the Basques but this season has had to fight Oscar de Marcos for his place under Ernesto Valverde. Valverde was also in charge when Iraola made his debut in 2003.
Basque sources say Iraola, who became a father for the first time on Tuesday, has already informed the club of his decision to leave.
