Real Madrid are believed to be keeping an eye on Victor Valdes’s situation at Manchester United, according to the English Press.

The European champions are understood to be looking for a new goalkeeper to replace Iker Casillas and have already sounded out David de Gea, Petr Cech and Augusto Batalla.

Having received no encouragement so far, they are now set to turn to Valdes, who is currently being kept out of United’s team by De Gea’s fine form this season.

Monaco had an agreement in place for Valdes last term but shelved the idea after the player suffered an injury playing for Barcelona.

As a result, the 33-year-old penned an agreement at Old Trafford until June 2016 with the option to extend it for another 12 months.
