Bartra thanks personal trainer

Marc Bartra has revealed how a personal trainer helped him make the transition from Barcelona’s B team to their first team.

The La Masia graduate, now 24, has recently established himself as a squad player at Camp Nou, and he believes the one-to-one tuition he received during his formative years gave him the tools to realise his ambitions.

“I dream of winning the treble,” the defender told Diario Vasco.

“I’m ambitious and I like to dream and think big. It’s the best way to raise your targets.

“I know that it won’t be easy. We have the Copa del Rey final coming up and we’re in a good position to win the League.

“Camp Nou’s our home. For us it’s great [that the Copa final will be hosted here].

“The Santiago Bernabeu’s one of the best stadiums in the world. Perhaps it was the most neutral option.

“I worked with a personal trainer for three years and think it was important [for my development].

“The move from Barca B to the first team was a major leap, and [the personal trainer’s] help was very good for me.

“Being at a team like Barcelona, where there’s a lot of pressure, I think the psychological aspect is very important.

“Now, I’m using the tools which I acquired at that stage [of my career].”
