Del Bosque: Spain were dominant

Vicente del Bosque has insisted that Spain in no way deserved their 2-0 friendly defeat to Netherlands at Amsterdam ArenA on Tuesday.

Early goals from Stefan de Vrij and Davy Klaassen were enough to put La Roja out of sight after the first 16 minutes, but the Coach was adamant his side “were all over” the Oranje, reserving special praise for debutants Vitolo and Juanmi.

“It seemed impossible that we wouldn’t score. The first 20 minutes burdened us,” he said after the game.

"We took control of the game, we were all over them, we reached their box [numerous times] but we lacked a goal.

“I thought the boos for [Andres] Iniesta were ironic, [considering the 2010 World Cup final].

“The two debutants [Vitolo and Juanmi] gave good performances. Vitolo was very lively and Juanmi looked like scoring.”
