Miranda on United’s radar

Manchester United are ready to return with an offer for Atletico Madrid defender Miranda this summer.

According to AS, the Premier League outfit made a bid for the Brazilian at the beginning of this season but were put off by Atleti’s asking price of €30m, the release clause in the player’s contract.

However, the emergence of Jose Maria Gimenez in Diego Simeone’s defence means the Madrid club may well be about to do business, while the fact that Miranda turns 31 in September makes him a saleable asset for Los Colchoneros.

Miranda’s contract at the Vicente Calderon expires in June 2016 and it is believed that he will speak to the club about his situation at the end of the current campaign, when United will make their move if they receive any encouragement.
