Cazorla: Morata is Spain’s future

Santi Cazorla has hailed Alvaro Morata as “the future of Spain” following his maiden goal against Ukraine in Euro 2016 qualifying on Friday.

The Juventus striker broke his duck for La Roja with the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Group C rivals Ukraine, and the Arsenal midfielder expects his compatriot to dominate the international scene for years to come.

“It's important to create chances. The score was low and we could've scored more goals,” he said after the match.

“We'd like to have scored more, but we created [the winner] and that's what matters.

“At 1-0 you always suffer. Iker had to make some saves and Ukraine were dangerous from set pieces.

“We'd have liked to have won another way, by a bigger margin, but everything doesn't always go the way you want in football.

“[Alvaro] Morata's the future of Spain. He's doing well at Juve and we've all already congratulated him [for his goal].”
